I Started a Substack and Here is What I Wish I Knew on Day One

Here are a few tips I wish someone had told me on day one.
Write notes. Write every day. It could be a question, a picture of the day, a line from a book. Notes give people a chance to discover you.
Engage with people. Read other posts and write comments.
Don’t ask people to subscribe.
Be yourself. Write in your own style.
Keep writing.
Have you heard of Substack, or do you have an account?
If you have, feel free to say hello. You can find me on Liuba’s Diary.
I have heard of Substack. Have been interested in learning more...and perhaps switching from Wordpress as it is getting expensive. Trying to learn something new (and as confusing, to me, as Substack) has been a bit overwhelming. I'm old - sigh.
ReplyDeleteHi and welcome to my blog, Jennifer! I only few weeks ago found out and substack actually brought me back to my this blog. I wasn't around for 9years (check my previous post). I completely understand! I found Substack confusing at first too, and I’m still learning. But once you start using it, little by little it begins to make sense. And you can even import your old blog posts into Substack. It is a great platform! Best wishes x
