5 Reasons to Read More Books

Image
I love lying in a hammock with a good book and disappearing into another world for a while. I recently read that reading comes with so many benefits. So all those hours spent with a book aren't just enjoyable; they are actually good for us.   Reading is good for your memory When you read, you store all kinds of facts in your memory. But you also have to process, understand, and retain information. You are constantly remembering characters, places, little details and everything that happened a few chapters ago. So, in that way, reading is a great way to train your memory. You develop your imagination When you read, you form a picture of the characters and the situation you are reading about in your mind. That is a great way to develop your imagination and fantasy. You learn how to visualise situations and people in your thoughts. You train your concentration Reading a book takes a lot of concentration and focus. Otherwise, you can’t follow the story properly. The more you rea...

Hello Again, After Nine Years

Image
It feels a little strange to be writing here again as the last time I wrote a post here was in 2017. Nine years have passed. I am not quite sure how that happened, but somehow life became busy, the years passed and I forgot about this little corner of the internet. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about this blog. A few days ago, I decided to check the stats and was amazed to see how many views my old posts still get every day. So, if any of you who used to follow my posts all those years ago are reading this now, a big hello from us! We are doing very well.    My little boy is not so little anymore. Nikita is 10 years old now, which is quite difficult for me to believe when I look back at the old photographs and posts here. He has grown into a boy who loves music, books and art. He plays piano and violin, he loves to read and  also, he enjoys drawing and creating. Music has become a particularly big part in our family life, and watching him grow into his own...

We Are Happy To Be Back

Image
Hello, hello, hello to everyone! We are back and I am really happy to be here again. I will share some photos with Nikita to see how big he is now and to fill the time gap. My last post was when he was 9 months and now he is 14 months. ahhh time flies so fast!  TEN MONTHS OLD I still remember that day. It was 8th of March. We were in Moldova and in Moldova on that day people celebrate International Women's day. We had a great day out, took lots of nice photos and after we went to my sister's house to celebrate the day. We had a day full of laughter, joy and happiness.

Nikita Is 9 Months Old

Image
Nikita has been on the "outside" as long as he has been on the "inside" and this feels like a huge milestone for us. When he was in my tummy I was always wondering when I will be able to finally hold my baby and now when he is 9 months old I am wondering how quick my little baby grows up. It's amazing watching him grow and develop. Nikita is an easy-going baby and most of the time he is cheerful, smiley baby. His cute smile makes us so happy. I love my sweet little boy so much. He is the most special tiny human & life is so beautiful with him in it. Nikita likes: - To grab and play with things he shouldn't - To put everything into his mouth - Reading books - To tear mama's magazines - Rolling all over the place - Bath time - Clapping his hands when his mama singing "ladushki, ladushki gde byli...?"  (It's a Russian clapping song.) - Being outdoors - To smile when I am not allowing him to grab something that h...

Hello my loves!  I haven't posted to my blog since November 2016 and I feel like I have been gone forever. I am so glad that I found few minutes to write this post. Also, I want to thank to those who keep writing me and asking if we are okay. We are absolutely fine, the problem is that I have no time like I had before, but I am very active on Instagram and I am sharing there lots of our everyday photos. I love Instagram so much. It's the fastest way to share your favourite photos with your friends. It's like a mini blog and I found lots of fantastic mamas there and I love reading their stories direct from my phone.  So, here I will share some photos and let me know if my baby changed since my last post. Now he is 8 months old, but in 4 days he will be 9 months old. Ohhhh I just can't believe my baby is almost 9 months old.  12 November 2016. We visited grandparents and we picked up the last apples from that tree.  12 November 2016. Nikita is chatting w...

Three Weeks In Italy And What We Visited

Image
We were on a road trip through Italy. We drove from North to South and stopped in Sicily for 10 days. I loved Sicily so much. Food and people are amazing there. All people were smiling to our little boy and he smiled back to them. The weather was really warm (highest+32 end of October) and we were enjoying sea bathing so much while our baby was sleeping in his stroller. On 24th of October our little Nikita had his first sea bath ever and he enjoyed it so much. I love to share all my special memories and someone asked me how is traveling with a baby and my answer was short: " so much fun and not too easy." Our little baby loves exploring, discovering and smiling to new people and for him this trip was a great experience and for us as well. In Sicily we visited: - San Vito Lo Capo (small holiday resort with a great beach) - Spiaggia di Mondello (nice sandy beach but crowded) - Trappeto (we stayed here) - Castellammare del Golfo (an attractive seaside town with breatht...

Happy 5 Months, Baby Nikita!

Image
You are the most delicate soul, the sweetest and kindest baby. From the moment you were born you filled our hearts with so much love. We are so blessed to have you here, with us, and every day. You are growing so so fast and it makes us so happy to know you are growing well, but we also want you to stay this little . It's been such a challenging few months but you have given us such an adventure. Creating new memories is our favourite part of this parenthood and we look forward to creating more memories together. At 5 months you love: - looking at yourself in the mirror; - reaching out for toys (things) you love; - reading books with your mama; - your feet and pull your socks off and suck your toes as often as possible; - talking to your mama and tata; - taking your soother out of your mouth and put it back in by yourself; - smiling to everyone; - making nice loud noises; - "Old Macdonald had a farm" song; - splashing the water in the bath; - playing with bunica...

Nikita At One Week

Image
Hello Everyone!!! How are you all? I am so happy to write this post and share with you these precious photos. Tomorrow he will be already 2 weeks old, but I am posting photos when he was one week old. I know that many of you are waiting for more photos of our little man. I am feeling so sorry that have no time at all to come more often here. So in this post I would be able to write shortly about our Nikita. He is a very happy baby, sleeping a lot and he loves eating mama's milk and very often :) During the day Nikita eats every 2-3 hours and during the night 3-4 hours, sometimes more. He sleeps very well and the last three nights were probably our best nights, he slept for about 4-5 hours at a time. He likes water a lot and we are trying to give him a bath every night. I love Nikita so much and it seems like he has always been here. I cannot imagine life without him. Thank you God for blessing us with such a sweet baby!!! Wishing you all a very l...

Pregnancy Update & What I Crocheted

Image
Today I am 40 weeks + 6 days and no signs still. During the last few nights I had a little more intense braxton hicks but nothing regular and nothing important. I have midwife appointment tomorrow and let's see what she would suggest to do :) People keep saying that first babies and boys are often late. It's funny that at this period of waiting I can't think of anything else other than the baby. BABY, PLEASE COME SOON! :) I am not a fan of Converse sneakers, but I like them and thought that would be a lovely idea to make a pair of them for our little man. I had fun making these booties and I am so happy with the final result. If you love crocheting, you also can try making these adorable crochet baby converse booties. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR ME/US!!! Much love Liuba xxx

40+4 Days and Still Pregnant

Image
For anyone that is still reading my blog I just thought I would write a short post to say that I am still here... and still pregnant.  Today I am 40 weeks and 4 days. I am feeling very well, doing lots of exercises, going for long walks, eating exotic fruits and as you probably know, all these are great ways to induce labour naturally. I went to the hospital on Saturday and the midwife encouraged me and told me that I don't need to worry at all as I have a happy baby. If the baby will not arrive until Thursday then I will be going back on Thursday to check again. Here is a photo of me from yesterday :) as well as a few other photos :) And this happy picture is from last Friday (40w1d). Here I went for a swing at the local park. It was fun and it also help to induce labour :) Thank you very much for all your warm words and prayers!!! Much love Liuba xxx

Newborn Baby Bib Made By Me

Image
This is a new project that I finished a few days ago. I have been feeling so much like crocheting lately and making something for my baby it means a lot to me. I didn't know what else should I make for my little love and thought that a bib would be just right as bibs are very practical. I purchased lots of pretty bibs for our coming baby boy, but this one I love the most. To see the tutorial of this baby bib project click here , and it will take you right to the video tutorial.

The Familiar Stranger by Christina Berry

Image
The Familiar Stranger by Christina Berry is one of the best novels I have read in a while. From the opening page to the very last I had to know more. A car accident left Craig (Denise's husband) horribly injured, and in a drug induced coma, and another man (William) dead. Craig lost his memory and while he is recovering his lost memory, Denise is discovering dark secrets. She is in a great shock and almost broken by his hidden secrets, but still looking and taking care after him.   Very touching story!!! Some of my favourite lines: "Take his fear," he prayed, his hands hovering over me again. "Remove all doubt and self-loathing from this man. Create in him a new heart, a soft heart, a heart open to Your leading and fully devoted to Your kingdom, to his wife, and to his family. Make a clear path for him to follow, Lord. And as he has confessed his sins, now throw them to the bottom of the ocean to be held against him no longer." "The accident h...

Delos, Island Of The Gods

Image
For ancient Greeks Delos was the most sacred place, because Apollo and Artemis, two of the most important deities of the Greek pantheon, were born there.  Delos is easy access from Mykonos island (about 30 min by boat) and we visited this very interesting small, rocky island while we were in Mykonos. The island itself is dry and not green at all, but full of history and also we heard that almost always there is sunny and very hot, but we were lucky that the day we went to Delos was a cloudy day. Our day trip to Delos was one of the highlights of our time in Greece. I visited  other Ancient Greek sites , but I really loved Delos because you can walk along the streets and into the houses of this ancient city. There is a café and museum as well. The museum is within the archaeological site and it is included in the ticket you pay for the archaeological site once arriving on the island. We enjoyed exploring the thousands of articles recovered from this World Heritage Archaeo...

Mykonos Town

Image
Happy hello to all of you my lovelies! I know that some of you were missing me and I am very thankful to those who wrote me and kept asking if I am OK. I am totally good, now I am back in London and will be more often here, with you guys. We had a long holiday this summer. First, we went to Mykonos, a little Island in Greece. In Mykonos we stayed one week and after we returned to London and on second day we had our flights to Bucharest. We spent one day there and after, went to Moldova and stayed there 2 weeks. We had brilliant time everywhere and today will write only about Mykonos Town.  Even if you haven’t been to Mykonos yet, I am sure you have heard about its beautiful beaches, Little Venice, Windmills, about narrow streets and those small white buildings in Mykonos Town.  We wandered through the town, which is so beautiful. I really loved walking through the maze of narrow streets known as Little Venice. There are lots of cafes, bars and Greek Shops...
