Life and Letters of Tchaikovsky
Completely absorbed in this one. The book is written by composer’s brother Modeste Tchaikovsky.

“One evening the Tchaikovskys gave a musical party at which the children were allowed to be present. At first Peter Ilich was very happy but before the end of the evening he grew so tired that he went to bed before the others.
When Fanny visited his room she found him wide awake, sitting up in bed with bright, feverish eyes, and crying to himself. Asked what was the matter, he replied, although there was no music going on at the time:
“Oh, this music, this music! Save me from it! It is here, here,” pointing to his head, “and will not give me any peace.”
*Fanny was Tchaikovsky’s French governess. She cared for and educated the Tchaikovsky children and was particularly close to young Peter.

ReplyDeleteThank you, darling!
DeleteI guess that's why he grew up to be a composer, to get that music out of his system.
ReplyDeleteYou said it perfect! Thank you for reading!
DeleteI'm starting a new book. It is not sitting beside me and I can't remember the title, lol. I'm not sure that is a good start.
ReplyDeleteHaha you made me laugh. Let me know next time when I will write something bookish and I will be asking same question :)) Have a great weekend! x
DeleteThat sounds intriguing and interesting! I don't read heavy subjects, but gravitate toward cozy mysteries that are entertaining and don't make me think too hard. Some might call it lazy, but I just call it easy entertainment!! LOL Thanks for the book review!
